Engagement with Other Bodies

Qualifications and Quality Ireland (QQI)
The QQI Core Quality Assurance Guidelines and Sector Specific Quality Assurance Guidelines inform the development of new quality assurance policies and procedures for Kerry ETB. These guidelines underscore Kerry ETB’s responsibilities for quality assurance of FET. Kerry ETB is mindful of its role and relationship with QQI, and its responsibilities and commitments under the Qualifications and Quality Assurance (Education and Training) Act 2012. This Executive Self-Evaluation is the first step in approving new quality assurance policies and procedures for Kerry ETB.

SOLAS
SOLAS- as the state organisation responsible for funding, planning and coordinating FET, has significant involvement in Kerry ETB services. The SOLAS Further Education and Training Strategy 2014-2019 has set priorities for investment and development of the sector. These priorities give direction to Kerry ETB in respect of the development of its FET services.

Other Awarding Bodies
Kerry ETB has quality assurance arrangements in place with the following awarding bodies:

  • ITEC and CIBTAC
  • City and Guilds
  • CIDESCO

Kerry ETB will incorporate these arrangements, as well as unaccredited provision, within its new quality assurance policies and procedures. A single set of quality assurance policies, procedures and practices will operate across all FET activity.
