Jimmy Deenihan T.D., Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht visited Cappanalea where he rekindled his memories at the Centre as a student teacher over thirty years ago. As a physical education teacher in north Kerry he recounted bringing students to the Centre and was impressed how Cappanalea OEC had grown since his early days there. The Minister praised the work of KES and the staff at both Cappanalea OEC and Killarney National Park Education Centre for their critical work in education and wished both Centres continued success.
